Welcome to Bit of Heaven Ranch! We breed and sell exceptional, naturally gaited Tennessee Walking Horses, paying close attention to conformation, bloodlines, and most of all, temperament! We believe in quality, not quantity. We are located in beautiful eastern Iowa, just an hour from Cedar Rapids and Davenport. We hope you enjoy your stay here at the ranch. In early 2006 Bit of Heaven Ranch joined with the Terrye Anne Ranch of Ramona, California to add an additional stunning and talented stallion, Whiskey's Collage, a registered Spotted Saddle Horse. He is not only gorgeous, but gentle! Information regarding this stallion has been added to the website.

GAY CICHOWSKI ... I have been riding horses all my life. An accident whilst riding in 1992 changed my whole world as I knew it. The doctors told me that I would always be in pain when I walked or moved around, and that it might lead to a life in a wheelchair someday...and riding? Well, they told me not to plan on being able to do that anymore... My determination and deep love of horses motivated me to prove the experts wrong.

I began riding Tennessee Walking Horses because their smooth gait makes it comfortable for me to ride since my injury. I have now fulfilled a lifelong dream...owning and breeding Tennessee Walking horses.

I moved to Iowa in 1996 when I found a beautiful 45 acre ranch in Oxford Junction. It is located 45 miles NW of Davenport and 45 miles SE of Cedar Rapids. I call my ranch "Bit of Heaven" because of it's gorgeous view and placid setting, and because it is by His grace that I an able to enjoy life after my injury.

I operate a small breeding farm focusing on quality of temperament, gait and conformation. With help from my significant other, Kevin, who is a great asset during the breeding season. Bit of Heaven stresses that all the mares are bred in-hand, which means there is a handler for the mare and the stallion. This guarantees good coverage by the stallion, and a good, controlled situation.

My daughter, Veronica "Nickie" Cichowski has completed her studies at Kirkwood Community College. She is currently attending Middle Tennessee State University in Murfeesboro, TN to obtain her BA in Equine Science. As much as we will miss Nickie here, with her help training our horses, we wish her the BEST OF LUCK in school!

Training will go back to the capable hands of myself. We will continue to produce the quality that Bit of Heaven has been known for.
